April Update...

Well... It has been a really long time since I have posted on the blog. I guess that is because we have been very busy. Nick finished up playing soccer at Strikers, and he won the championship. Zach has been busy helping a friend of his with the Pro Challenge car and also he may be starting to work a part-time job. I have been very busy at Curves and also with some other miscellaneous work. We have been remodeling our bathroom which has been a major project, thank goodness it is almost finished. But through all of that... we were able to "get away" and go to the Jimmy Buffet concert with our "bestest friends" Jeremy & Jennell and Mike & Debbie. We really had a GREAT TIME!!! Tonight we went to Nick's Science Fair and he and his friend Chase, recieved 3rd place for their project, which was GREAT considering the number of entries. Way to go Chase and Nick! We are proud of you! I will try to not take so long before I post again... especially since I am now connecting my BLOG to my facebook. (I am still really new to the facebook deal). But I am enjoying "chating" with "old friends". Until Next Time.... :)

Update on the Stroupe's...

It's been a while since we have posted anything but that doesn't mean we haven't been doing anything. We have not raced in a couple of weeks but we have been busy and we have a good bit scheduled over the next few weeks. The boys have been busy with school work and school activities. With time off from racing, it has given the boys time to "hang out" with their friends. Since Zach has gotten his license, he and Nick seem to be "on the road" alot "having FUN"!!!! They have been going to the mall, Nascar Speedpark, movies, out to eat, and today they are at friends house watching the "Daytona 500". Nick began yesterday playing on a Spring soccer league at Strikers with a group of his teammates that he plays soccer with at Lincoln Charter School. Friday we are planning to leave around noon with a group of friends (Jeremy, Jennell, Scottie, Dale, Todd & ???) to go to the mountains to go skiing for the weekend. I hope the weather will cooperate. I looked at the weather online and they are calling for snow a couple of days this week so hopefully the conditions will be okay. If not... OH WELL... We will have a GOOD TIME!!!! We are renting a BIG, NICE house and we will have LOTS OF FUN just "hanging out". The group of us ALWAYS has a GREAT time when we are together!!! Mike and I are planning to go to Key West, Florida for 10 days from March 9-18. So yes, we are going from the COLD to the WARM within a (3) week period. The boys are planning to spend the first couple of days in my sister, Patsy's apartment (beside her house), then Nick leaves for a field trip for a few days and Zach will stay in the apartment by himself (do you think he will make it?!?!?-ha!ha!) , then Mike's mom will come on Friday to stay with the boys until we get home on Tuesday. So as you can see... We have a busy schedule planned... Plus we will probably be at a racetrack within the next few weeks. I will try to have some pictures for you soon!

Last Winter Heat Race at Lowe's Motor Speedway

Well today wasn't quite what we were hoping for but it wasn't all bad... We thought it was going to be a GREAT day... Nick was first up with his first heat race and he WON... YEAH!!! But in tech he was too low coming across the scales due to a worn shock and they threw him out and he finished LAST. Zach was up next.. he finished 2nd in his heat race. Nick had to start the main event 28th, he had worked his way all the way up to 9th place and AGAIN... something broke and he was forced with another DNF. Zach had a much better finish... he finished 2nd!!!! We had FUN but I think we are ready for a BREAK!!! We will keep you updated on whats going on. Thanks for your support!

Friday...

Well... Practice went well so so today at Lowes. The trailing arm broke on Zach's car and they spent most of the afternoon fixing it. I guess it was much better for it to break today rather than tomorrow because he would have had to miss the race if it happened tomorrow. After they fixed the car, both boys were the quickest in their classes at practice today. (seems like we can always "WIN" PRACTICE but we have had BAD LUCK when it comes to the races. Hopefully our luck will change tomorrow. Nick WON the FIRST race of the WInter Heat... It sure would be GREAT for him to WIN the LAST. The last time that Zach broke a trailing arm in practice, he WON, so we have "HIGH HOPES"!!!! We will update our blog after the races tomorrow.
